After designing costume jewellery for eight years with her label Low Luv, supermodel Erin Wasson has shifted focus to create her first line of fine jewellery: Wasson Fine. Architecturally inspired, featuring pieces made from gold, silver, diamonds and pearls, the collection combines sculptural elements with classic lines and is stocked exclusively at David Jones. Here, we chat to Wasson about her vision for the brand.
Describe your brand in a sentence.
Femme Edge. Feminine with an edge. It's refined but when looked at closely has secret moments of attitude.
Who do you see as the Wasson Fine woman?
The Wasson Fine woman is someone who understands sculpture and depth. And through that knowledge truly knows herself.
What inspires you continually?
Architecture in wondrous locations.
What was the starting point for your latest collection?
Studying barnacles. These little things that live and morph and go through their own metamorphosis below the sea but need a vessel to hold onto.
Who would you love to see wearing Wasson Fine and why?
Louise Bourgeois. Perhaps for what I said in question two.
